On the eve of the New Year we add our personal reckoning to the collective reckoning of a hesitant society oscillating between hope and despair, light and darkness, joy and fear.
Life is full of essential contradictions alongside the global world of cyberspace where everything is open and all is permissible. We live surrounded by physical fences and walls that protect our lives. We push away the partnership and the option of coexistence between ourselves and our neighbors.
There are walls between people who speak different languages and whose conceptual worlds divide them.
In the forthcoming year we will lower these walls, reduce the violence and remove hate and hostility.
We will set an agenda based on human dignity and freedom, on equality with regard to the value of human life, on creating a society of friendship and love of mankind.
