The common perspective of the Israeli public is that the Jews are always the victims – lambs being led to the slaughter. With this narrow and distorted perspective there is no prospect that we will ever reach a peace accord with our neighbors. Since their sole aim is to slaughter us and sweep us from the face of the earth. In order to counteract this elemental perspective, based on irrational anxiety, we must invest a great deal in long term political and social values education because as the “chosen people” and “me alone and the rest are insignificant” that rule the land we will not last long.
