The feminine representation in the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) is slight and insufficient: only 17.5% of all members of the 16th Knesset are women – and this is a record feminine representation since the establishment of the State. Moreover, there are also parties that count no women among their ranks (the ultra-Orthodox and the Arabs). Many sectors are represented in the Knesset or in elections to the Knesset, but there is no Women's Party. As a result, nobody sees to the interests of women and to solving problems such as salary gaps, the blooming pornography industry, the failure to implement the Long School Day, and trade in women.
Unfortunately, most of the female Knesset members do not go out of their way to assist all women in Israel and prevent the discrimination, contempt and the humiliation that is their lot. This situation will continue if women do not assemble and start to endeavor on behalf of their own interests.
