Kadima" is a supermarket party, in which every person can find what he's looking for. Ariel Sharon, who heads the party, is offering the public an unequalled combination of personality, charisma, governmental experience and close ties with the President of the United States - and he enjoys tremendous popularity. His supporters on the left and center believe that his position as Prime Minister has granted him a wider perspective and a certain degree of reserve (incidentally, this is also what happened to Netanyahu).
Veteran governing parties, such as the Likud and Labor, are not disappearing, but there is reason to believe that "Kadima" will continue to exist as a centrist party even after Sharon is out of the picture. However, the real test will be around the negotiating table – and it is doubtful whether such a multi-variegated party will be able to withstand such a test.
