A grave social crisis has befallen the State of Israel, due to the capitalistic policy of former Finance Minister, Netanyahu: the gap between the upper classes and the lower classes has greatly widened and many families have fallen below the poverty line, and are in need of the help provided by various welfare societies.
The Labor Party, led by Amir Peres, offers a social alternative - a policy which will provide a solution to this difficult crisis: a combination between the aspiration toward peace and the allocation of greater resources to social needs. Should it be elected, the Peretz government will lead Israel to peace with its neighbors – but will not forget those who don't have time to wait for a "New Middle East" along the way.
